Accessibility audits

Website accessibility audits in Seattle

Find out what's keeping people out of your website before a customer, a funder or a demand letter does. I test your site by hand and with tools, explain what I find in plain English, and help you fix the real problems. I work with organizations in the Greater Seattle area and remotely.

What you get

  • Testing to WCAG 2.2 AA, the latest version of the accessibility standard. It includes everything in WCAG 2.1 AA, the version current laws point to.
  • Hands-on checks with only a keyboard, on real phones, with enlarged text, plus several automated tools. Automated scans alone catch only part of the problems.
  • A plain-English report that ranks what to fix first, and how.
  • Fixes, not overlays. I fix the code itself, or show your team how. Overlay widgets don't prevent lawsuits.

Who it's for

Small businesses open to the public, nonprofits and clinics funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (WCAG 2.1 AA required by May 2027, or May 2028 with fewer than 15 employees), and contractors who build content for state and local governments (April 2027).

Planning changes? Start here

If your site needs fixes or changes, an audit comes first. A quick patch on a site nobody has looked at can break something bigger, like a checkout page, a contact form or your search rankings. The audit inspects how your site is built, what it depends on and where the risks are, and logs every issue it finds, so the repair work can be planned and quoted before anything is touched. It works like a repair shop's inspection: you pay for a thorough check and a list of what's wrong, then decide what to have diagnosed and fixed based on what it finds and what it will cost.

What it costs

Three ways to start: a free site check of your home page (the three biggest issues), a starter review for $100, with every issue on your home page explained and ranked, or a full audit of the whole site: small sites up to 5 pages from $450, then $40 for each additional page, with pages that share a layout checked by sample. Typical full audits in the industry run $2,000 to $8,000. Your price depends on how many different page layouts and features your site has. Every audit includes a consultation. I'll walk you through what I found, explain which issues I recommend addressing first, and go over what the necessary work will involve and cost before we get started.

Checks, reviews and audits are information only: they show what could be improved, and any fixes are quoted and agreed on separately. Not every issue can be fixed, and perfect scores aren't always possible, depending on your platform, hosting, third-party tools and other factors. Not legal advice, and no one can promise a site will never face a complaint. If you've received a demand letter, talk to an attorney first.
