Business setup

From idea to open for business

Lots of good ideas never get off the ground because the business side feels overwhelming. Names, registrations, domains, email, accounts, branding, a website: it's a long list, and it's hard to know what comes first. I help you work through it step by step, so you can focus on the part you're excited about. I'm based in the Seattle area and work remotely with clients anywhere in the U.S. and Canada.

What I can help with

  • A name that works: checking whether it's already in use and whether the domain is available.
  • The order of things: a clear checklist of what to set up first, and where to go to do it.
  • Your online basics: domain, professional email, hosting and the accounts your business needs, all set up in your name.
  • A brand people remember: logo, colors, business cards, flyers and other print pieces.
  • Your website: built to bring in customers, tested on real phones, and yours to own.
  • Merch, if you want it: a print-on-demand shop, or local screen printers for shirts, hats and stickers.

Why I can help

I've been through it myself: setting up an LLC, registering trade names, and building and running my own online store. I share what I learned along the way, including the mistakes worth avoiding, so you don't have to figure it all out alone.

What I don't do

I'm not a lawyer, and nothing I share is legal advice. I can tell you what worked for me and point out when it's time to talk to a lawyer or an accountant. For legal or tax decisions about your business, please consult a qualified professional.

What it costs

Every business starts in a different place, so I quote after a free conversation about where you are and what you need. You can pick just the pieces you want help with.
